I will search for the lost and bring back the strays. I will bind up the injured and strengthen the weak, but the sleek and the strong I will destroy. I will shepherd the flock with justice.
I heard it said that none of us know where we are going and that is why we need to keep close to God. We are following Him. He is never the one who is lost. We are the ones who are lost. You might say “How could God lose us? Isn’t He all powerful?” We are not physically lost, but spiritually lost and God must find us. He knows where we are, but reaching us is a different matter for Him. He cannot always reach us, not because He is impotent, but because reaching our soul is a much different matter. He has made us to be independent and able to choose. So He is constantly working to woo us. Some of us have made ourselves unreachable. Make sure you have not made yourself unreachable.
