In Jeremiah 15:19 God says to Jeremiah:

Jeremiah 15:19
Therefore, thus says the LORD,” If you return, then I will restore you– Before Me you will stand; And if you extract the precious from the worthless, You will become My spokesman. They for their part may turn to you, But as for you, you must not turn to them.

Jeremiah was starting to grumble towards God.  God’s response was a warning.  Today it is very easy to get distracted by our circumstances and why God hasn’t blessed us in ways that He has blessed others.  But God wants us to extract the precious from the worthless.  The precious being our devotion to Him and seeing His love in our lives and the worthless being our blaming Him and grumbling about what He has not done yet.  There are always positive and negative things we can focus on.  It reminds me of a yound lady I know who has Huntington’s disease.  Her daughter had it as well and died at the age of 7.  She never got mad at God, but always had a ver sweet spirit of worship towards God.  Even as she is nearing the end stages of the disease, she loves to listen to worship music and worship God.  It is not our circumstances that is as significant as how we look at them.
